Dr. Barry Green -
Barry is internationally recognized as an expert in the field of
holistic's, massage and the
body-mind connection, one of the few Americans to receive the Great
Therapist of the 20th Century
award. Barry combines over 40 years of personal and professional background
as an educator and practitioner in the body-mind field. His extensive
background includes personal therapies, spiritual disciplines, martial
arts, gymnastics, and dance. He holds the Guinness World Record for
the longest massage given, demonstrating one of the innovative techniques
he has developed to make massage as energizing for the practitioner
as it is for the client. Barry holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology
and developed the first Body Mind graduate level program in 1978 at
UHS in San Diego. Author of numerous publications, including The Holistic
Body Therapy Textbook and Just Watch the Movie, Barry has co-founded
five massage schools, the latest of which is Body Mind College, which
is a culmination of Barry’s dream to found a college which provides

Kathryn (Kat) Green, HHP -
Kat has been a practitioner of yoga since 1994. She has studied with
numerous teachers including Peri Ness, Diane
Roberts, Todd Norian, and currently Gary Kraftsow of the Viniyoga lineage.
As a certified instructor, yoga therapy practitioner, and a Body Mind
College HHP graduate, she integrates her diverse and extensive training
into a uniquely compassionate, sensitive, playful and direct teaching
style that is rooted in the ancient yogic traditions of self transformation.
Kat’s area of expertise is in creating specific asana and pranayama
practices for individual needs. |

Linda Henning, HHP -
Linda is a teacher, healer and ceremonialist. She began teaching
at Body Mind College in 1994 after receiving her
HHP from our school. You will find her teaching in our Massage Tech
Training classes, HHP core classes, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and
Sound and Music in Healing. She specializes in body-mind counseling,
and vibrational and energy healing.
Linda is also the director of the Energy Garden, a center for relaxation,
healing and life balance. She brings to her classes her deep connection
to nature and to the cycles of the earth as she
walks and shares the ways of the Shaman’s Path. You can learn

Dave Garza, HHP -
Dave has been in the holistic health field doing massage since 1993
and teaching at Body Mind College
since 1997. A
graduate of the School of Healing Arts, his interest in bodywork
was drawn into the realms of Eastern modalities and western therapeutic
massage, which has led to creating extensive programs in Zen Shiatsu
and Progressive Deep Tissue. He has shared his views on massage, Shiatsu,
and Eastern philosophy with hundreds of students across Southern California,
using storytelling, analogies, music, and years of practical experience.
When he is not doing bodywork, teaching, or engaged in a deep philosophical
discussion, Dave enjoys playing guitar, practicing yoga and T’ai
Chi. |

Daniel Schmachtenberger, HHP – Daniel
has been involved in the field of holistics since 1993 when he graduated
the Massage Technician
program at Body Mind College at the age of 13 (as far as we know, Daniel
holds the record for the youngest massage therapist ever certified).
Daniel completed his HHP at Body Mind and went on to do advanced certifications
in counseling and emotional release work with Dr Barry Green. Daniel
also has a deep knowledge of naturopathic and diagnostic medicine,
and teaches nutrition, herbology, and physiology at Body Mind College.

Rev. Kevin Whelan, HHP – Kevin
is a Body Mind College graduate, professional intuitive, and Reiki
Master Teacher.
He has been involved
with holistic and metaphysical work for over 5 years. While at Body
Mind College, Kevin went on to do an advanced childhood learning process
with Dr. Barry Green called Releasing the Past. This process helped
him to easily identify and heal his own core issues and be able to
help others do the same. Kevin also has extensive intuitive, metaphysical,
and energy management training.
He uses intuitive and energetic principles blended with the body-mind
connection and core learning to guide him as he works. Clients and
students often experience profound transformational life shifts from
working with him. His approach is sometimes unconventional, often humorous
and at the same time has depth. |

James Schmachtenberger, HHP - James is a graduate of Body Mind College
with extensive continued training with Dr. Barry Green. He is one of
very few people trained in facilitating long-term holistic processes
as well as teaching students to facilitate. James has been deeply committed
to his own personal growth and healing for several years and his attainment
is clearly demonstrated in his teaching. He is well known for his playful
and entertaining teaching style while at the same time being able to
clearly articulate his course material. As the owner and director of
Body Mind College, his passion and enthusiasm for personal growth and
transformation inspires his students to learn and heal. |

Marnina Reid, HHP - After graduating Body Mind College as a nationally
certified Holistic Health Practitioner, Marnina went on to do advanced
certifications
in holistic counseling, emotional release methods, and therapeutic
body work. Her practice is dedicated to healing and freeing the whole
person, with an emphasis on deep, emotional clearing. She draws on
her years of training and vast personal experience with numerous methods
including bio-energetic, rebirthing, Fischer-Hoffman, Miracle of Love,
Gateway and more. She also has a background in nutrition, massage,
and NLP. Marnina has a gift of sincerely connecting and empathizing
with people where they are, and helping them to truly accept, love
and empower themselves and their lives.

Anthony Lang, HHP -
Anthony's passion for the martial arts led him to study massage and
bodywork therapies. Since completing his education at the Pacific
College of Oriental Medicine in 1994, he has worked closely with
acupuncturists, chiropractors and physical therapists, in addition
to building a busy, successful private practice. Anthony's clinical
experience has allowed him the opportunity to work with professional
athletes, tri-athletes, and elite marathon runners. His enthusiasm
for sharing his deep understanding of body sciences, oriental medicine
and the martial arts can be experienced in the classroom.

Sheldon Finn, HHP -
Sheldon graduated from The School of Healing Arts in 1995, after which
he began a successful holistic massage practice in San Diego. Sheldon's
passion for therapeutic bodywork and continuing drive to expand his
knowledge and experience in the field led him to study CranioSacral
therapies with Dr. John Upledger, an internationally recognized innovator
and creator of CranioSacral therapy, at the Upledger Institute. Having
a natural talent for CranioSacral therapy, Sheldon began assistant
teaching with the Upledger Institute. Well versed in anatomy, physiology,
therapeutic bodywork and CranioSacral therapy, Sheldon brings a structured
curriculum to the class room, yet delivers his knowledge and passion
for the healing modalities in a highly motivating, fun and energetic
style.

Self, CNH, MH, CCI - Brian
Self has been intimately involved in the study and practice of
herbology, nutrition and cleansing for
the last 11 years. Brian is a Certified Nutritional Herbologist
and Master Herbalist through "the great" Dr. John Christopher's
School of Natural Healing. He is an IIPA Certified Iridologist
with extensive continued training with Dr. Ellen-Tart Jensen. Brian
is a graduate of The Landmark Forum and is also a Whole Food Culinary
Artist specializing in healthy, Nutritious and delicious whole
food cuisine. Brian’s body, mind, spirit, and whole person
approach to creating health is integrated with addressing the roots
and causes of the challenges in our lives. Brian teaches and coaches
from a place of deep experience with compassion, understanding
and the wisdom that has come from having been through so much.
Brian has a growing natural health and lifestyle coaching service
and enjoys living in kinship with nature, researching/developing
