This class focuses on postural
assessment. Students will learn:
1). How to assess standing posture
for muscular tensions and postural imbalances,
2). How to assess
breathing and identify dysfunctional patterns of respiration,
3).
How to assess
shoulder girdle organization for tension and function,
4). How
to assess walking for functional and dysfunctional gait,
5).
Body-psychology
theory for each of the above.
Students will have the
opportunity for individual assessments of the above from both a
physical and body psychology perspective.
Each student
will also have the opportunity for suggestions as to therapeutic
methods for balancing any areas of the body and body psychology
indicated in
the assessment. This class uses the “client/practitioner” support
system to allow students to practice the role of facilitator. |
